I totally reject your criticism.

I did read the article in full and I think, in your comment, you make the same point I want to make:

"some people are being driven to the point of despair by the failure of government to protect small communities"

Communities are not necessarily geographically defined; this is a community that is discriminated against because they live unconventional lives and they are a small comunity. One of the discriminators is local government, I'd add.

My original point stands; Ms Dorries said that to be British you had to live in a house (which I will extend to a flat, but why shouldn't I live in a yurt if I want) and you had to send your children to school (meaning no home-schooling). Both are very illiberal points and are indicative of a world full of people who can't accept that people do things they don't like.

As to cheap shots, I think picking on the Romany is pretty cheap. You might also answer my criticisms of Ms Dorries' article - in what way is what she said not an advocacy of the tyrrany of the majority?

xD.

Its worth reading Nadine's article in full. Then perhaps you'll stop looking for cheap shots and realise that some people are being driven to the point of despair by the failure of government to protect small communities, schools etc.

Great article. Dorries is a prat coming out with those statements- I can see how it might be difficult if gypsies set up in your field but that makes council provided fields even better as an idea and demonstrates what an idiot Dorries is. It strikes me that they are an easy gropu to attack- do you know if they vote at all? We need more liberalism in the world and more toleration.
