I am surprised nobody has mentioned Alan Johnson. Don’t know if he’d want it, but he is a genuine working-class Londoner and comes across on TV like an actual human being.

Matt - Ken has said he’s leaving politics to write his memoirs.
PZT - Perhaps; he’s been low-profile since the deputy leadership. I suspect he has his eye on the top job.
