Where’s the outrage?

Do you remember, a little while ago, that the Hackney Gazette and its owner, Archant, caused some unfortunate publicity for themselves when they agreed to run an ad from the BNP in the run-up to the Mayoral election? No?

LabourHome: Archant takes BNP cash

Liberal Conspiracy: It didn’t bother Sunny

Hackney Councillor Luke Akehurst: shock and concern

Guardian: Publisher to donate cash from BNP ad

Stroppy Blog: Victory: Hackney Gazette will not publish BNP ad

I was surprised and, to be honest, disappointed to learn, via JimJay of the Daily (Maybe), of this advert in the Guardian.

xD.

  1. Sunny H Says:

Have just found out the ads have been paid by the GLA, to advertise for Barnbrook’s PA, rather than paid for by the BNP.

  2. The Tory Troll Says:

The Guardian have a contract with the GLA and the hiring of staff is conducted by the GLA. I would suspect that they would be opening themselves up for a legal challenge if they didn’t advertise for his staff just because he’s a member of the BNP.

Thanks for the update, TT. Makes more sense… still, liberal rage. Pass the guacamole.
