No, it isn’t. There have been changes along the way, the big ones being prescription charges and less provision for dentistry and glasses. Beyond that, there are more, costlier medicines, new techniques and so on and so forth. Nevertheless, it still more-or-less delivers.
I’d add that it’s only now becoming a national healthservice; it always used to be a national sickness service, but healthcare (which moves beyond the actual NHS) is becoming more about prevention.
